SUPREME COURT REJECTS

EQUALITY FOR PUERTO RICO!

PROOVES STATEHOOD IS THE ONLY OPTION FOR

EQUAL RIGHTS & FULL DEMOCRACY IN PR

Yesterday, the United States Supreme Court issued a decision in United States v. Vaello-Madero, a landmark case in the fight for political equality for U.S. Citizens in Puerto Rico and all the Territories.

The Court decided that the U.S. Constitution allows Congress to discriminate against Puerto Rico by excluding territorial residents from receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits, a crucial program for the elderly and disabled individuals in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

The decision shows that as long as Puerto Rico remains a territory the federal government will continue to deny U.S. citizens on the island equal treatment and equal rights under federal laws. This outrageous discrimination has to stop!

But only Congress has the solution. We must get them to respect the will of the majority of Puerto Rico's voters who have chosen full equality and statehood three times in the last ten years, and finally pass legislation to offer Puerto Rico statehood.

We need your help to remind Congress and the American public that Puerto Rico voted for immediate admission as a State in November 2020. Puerto Rico doesn't just want parity in federal programs - they want full equality, voting rights, and democratic representation as U.S. citizens, which are only possible under Statehood.

USE YOUR VOICE & POWER TO SPEAK UP FOR PUERTO RICO!

Thank you for your support, we will not stop working until the U.S. citizens of Puerto Rico achieve the equal rights they deserve.

Yours Sincerely,

The PR51st Team
