For over 120 years, the U.S. citizens of Puerto Rico have been deprived of basic democratic rights. This includes the right to vote for President and the right to elect voting representatives to Congress.
It is almost unfathomable to believe that a place with 3.2 million Americans has almost no power to influence the federal government that makes and implements the laws that affect their daily lives. The most effective way to empower our fellow Americans in Puerto Rico is to grant them full equality into the union through statehood. That is what the people voted for in 2020, and that is our mission as an organization.
On November 3rd, 2020 Puerto Rico held a historic plebiscite that asked voters if they want the island to become a state of the union. With a clear majority Puerto Ricans reaffirmed their decision to become a state, but we need your help to amplify their voice.
