Please join us on Wednesday, July 31st at 4:00 pm ET, for the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) Public Policy Briefing on Puerto Rico titled "Strengthening U.S. - Puerto Rico Policy: A Win for Security & Prosperity." The briefing will feature opening remarks from CHLI Chairwoman and Fmr. Congresswoman, Hon. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, and Puerto Rico's Resident Commissioner, Hon. Jenniffer González-Colón. 

For the panel discussion, host and the Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Statehood Council (PRSC), George Laws Garcia, will be joined by experts to delve into issues of economic development, commerce, trade, technology/innovation, national security, and how all of it connect to the island's political status. The panelist will include the following:

• Jose Luis Rivera-Rivera, Fmr. President and Current Board Member, Puerto Rico Economic Association;
• Andrés Martínez-Fernández, Senior Policy Analyst, Allison Center for National Security of The Heritage Foundation; 
• Prof. Christina D. Ponsa-Kraus, Esq., Columbia Law School; and
• Dr. Justin Vélez-Hagan, PhD, National Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce
